We got lucky. Joel was assigned to us by our relocation company, we had read nothing about him prior to meeting him. Joel met with my wife and I and helped us to focus in on what were looking for. I can't imagine having a better experience with a real estate agent. Joel represented us both while we were searching for homes and when we sold the one he helped us find. As our buyer's agent, I'll have to admit that I'm a bit of a finicky and picky person as to what I want out of a purchase,  and Joel didn't sweat that one bit. He handled everything we threw at him in stride. He traveled far and wide with us to areas he wasn't even necessarily familiar with, just to help find us the perfect home we were looking for. Ultimately we found a property that my wife and I were happy with, and we were able to offer what we considered to be a bargain price that was ultimately accepted by the seller. Four years later when we decided to sell the house due to unexpected life changes, we gave Joel a call again due to the great experience we had during the buying process. Let me tell you, Joel certainly had honed his craft over those years because we are just absolutely blown away by the stratospheric levels of professionalism, hard work, and polished ease with which he guided us through the selling process. The same competence and willingness to accommodate was still there, but it became evident that stacked on top were years of striving toward improving the quality of his service. First off, he gave us great advice on staging our home, allowing us to get it as close to that "model home" look as possible while still living in it. Next, he got us the best real estate photographer in the business, bar none. I have quite a few friends who are professional photographers, and I've even dabbled a bit myself, so I know quality photography when I see it. That said, this is the best real estate photographer in SoCal, maybe the best guy anywhere, and this is the one Joel brought to take pictures of my house. Finally, the dynamic way in which Joel approached the meat-and-potatoes of the selling process allowed us to get a very precise assessment of the value of our home, our prospects on selling it, and ultimately we were able to accept an offer that we were very happy with (as were the buyers). To conclude my review, as a person with an MBA who has worked in customer service for years, I can say without reservation that the way Joel runs his ship could be used as a case study in textbooks on how to do the job right. I wouldn't write this review if my appreciation wasn't genuine, and it's my hope that others who read this review will have the good fortune of working with Joel Blumenfeld and the experience that he will bring to the table. I talked to several agents before making my choice. most of them recommended listing my home at $30,000 to $40,000 less than what Joel recommended. and all of them did not recommend open houses because they rarely produce a buyer. Joel had a open house all most every weekend. all the offers and the buyer all attended one of the open houses.

Joel was assigned by a relocation company as one of our realtors to choose from when my husband and I were making a career change. When we interviewed them, he (in hindsight) provided the most accurate comparative analysis and was the only realtor to suggest that we take our time, move out of the  house, and then prepare it for sale; he did not seem interested in the “quick turn” commission, like the other realtor. Joel’s estimate for sale was over 20-percent higher than the other realtor, and he delivered a sale price within 1.5 percent of that estimate (all cash, in less than a week from listing). The entire closing process took about two weeks, but that was mostly due to delays by the buyers. We invested a small amount in repairs and earned over ten times that back in profit. Beyond the numbers, when my husband and I moved out-of-state, Joel became a defacto (unpaid) property manager who handled everything from managing contractors to sending us mail that USPS failed to forward (and everything in-between). In short, Joel provides a quality product with professionalism and knowledge. Joel took us to see many properties and accommodated all our needs. We are first time home buyers and don't have any immediate family in the country to help us navigate through the process. We went to a few open houses by ourselves and met a number of Realtors; most tried to have us sign contracts to work exclusively with them that we were wary of doing. Joel was a great agent and was instrumental in our purchase of a new home. Our home search took about 5 months and Joel was there every step of the way. He responded to emails and inquiries quickly, which was extremely helpful. I can’t recommend him enough.  

Joel helped us get into a nice condo in Poway. He located three different properties that we made offers on. We are very happy with the one that we got. Great location, right price and within our means. A lot has changed since I last owned a property over twenty years ago. Joel helped us get the thru escrow and with a very good loan. So much paper work now that everyone needs a professional to help guide them thru the process. Joel Blumenfeld is an outstanding real estate professional in every way. Joel is considerate, polite, careful, throughout, responds almost instantaneously to all emails, texts, and phone calls, and is exceedingly creative and thoughtful in presenting the home. He does all his own open houses and never “farms” it out to another agent. Although our house was new construction and every potential buyer loved the house, there was an extenuating issue in the neighborhood that was a potential problem for buyers. Joel looked at every possible way to find buyers that this was not a problem for and who could see what a great value the home was beyond the temporary neighborhood issue. The home took many months to sell for this reason and we became very discouraged and were going to take off the market, but Joel was never negative or discouraged – he always believed that every home had the perfect new owner and we just had to be patient. At the same time our neighbor was trying to sell her home and had same neighbor issue. Her agent was recommending drastically reducing the price for a quick sale but when time came to renew agreement she choose to go with Joel instead. He ended up selling both our homes within just days of each other. We live out of town and my neighbor is elderly so Joel went out of his way to help with the final details and the sells went through quickly without any issues or delays. The smoothest sell transaction any of us had ever experienced – and that is saying a lot in today’s markets. We recommend Joel Blumenfeld without the slightest reservation and would use him again. Indeed wish we could use him where we currently live!  

Joel was very helpful with getting us the exact house that we wanted! He managed to get us (Husband and Wife) through the process of buying our first house-- making the process much easier than we would have imagined it could be. He was very available and responsive when it came to answering questions, and being able to take our phone calls and show up when he was needed for an appointment or to do something at the house we were buying.    

My wife and I feel very fortunate to have worked with Joel in the purchase of our condo. He explained everything thoroughly and quickly responded to all our questions/concerns. Joel represented us buying our first house.  It was great to have him as a guide, he walked us through every step of the process in great detail, and was extremely responsive. I don’t think there was an email i sent that didn't get answered pretty much right away, it was great.  Whenever he could he took workload off of us (getting documents together, following up with various parties, researching our thousands of questions, etc), which made the whole process so much less stressful. He was very open and honest through all parts of the deal, which made us feel a lot more comfortable as first time buyers. He was not pushy at all and we didn't feel pressured to do anything, but was 100% ready to go to bat for us for anything that we decided on. Buying a house is hard enough, i can't imagine how much more stressful it would have been if we had not had an agent who made a big effort to make things easier for us and kept us very well informed the whole time. Would highly recommend!  

Overall it was a pleasure to work with Joel. I very much appreciated hearing from Joel (via phone and email) in the evenings and on the weekends when I needed to communicate rather than when it was convenient for Joel. The extra effort to keep a high level of communication was very much appreciated. Joel was also very flexible when working with the management company I was using. I live on the east coast and didn’t have time to manage things in detail and Joel understood my situation made things work. Lastly Joel was ‘spot on’ when it came to recognizing a buyer that was not serious or lacked the resources to fulfill the sale. This insight was valuable to me as a vacant house not sold is money out the door.
